What is Uthayam?

Uthayam is a registered charity based in Germany that is passionate about helping the people of Sri Lanka, especially in the areas affected by the 35-year war in the North and East of the country. Our aim is to provide both spiritual and physical strength and help people achieve an improved standard of living.

What kind of help does Uthayam provide?

Uthayam offers a variety of projects aimed at building physical strength, promoting self-reliance and improving the financial situation of those suffering. We help widowed families and orphans, support disabled people and provide medical care. In addition, we support elderly people who have lost their children in the war and promote educational development in various areas. Before projects are implemented, they are carefully examined and planned by our experienced project managers.

How does Uthayam finance its projects?

Our projects are funded by monthly contributions from local project leaders, donations from generous people and the sale of food during festivals. We also organize sports and cultural festivals at which donations are collected. People living in the diaspora also support us with their generous donations
